So without further adieu, here's a countdown of ten stories of note. Make sure to click on the accompanying links below to read the whole story. Enjoy!

10. Terao wins fourth state title, Pearl City boys win first-ever crown

While Josh Terao was jubilant in winning his fourth, the Pearl City boys were perhaps even more so in winning their first.

The Chargers brought home the school's first-ever wrestling state title, rallying past a Lahainaluna squad that boasted three individual titlists, 155.5 to 146. Terao on the other hand was simply dominant, blanking Zackary Diamond in the 132-pound bout to become just the fourth boy to win four individual crowns in a career.

9. Burnett's layup at the buzzer lifts Maryknoll over 'Iolani, 39-37

A buzzer-beating finish by Josh Burnett helped keep Maryknoll in the chase for the ILH Division I title in a 2-point stunner over Iolani on the Spartans' home court.

Michael Miske deflected a Raiders' pass in the dying seconds of regulation that ended up in the hands of Sean Ogata, who somehow flipped the ball to Burnett for the game-winning layup at the horn.

8. Saint Louis beats Mililani, 10-0, to win Division I state crown

Led by tourney MOP Jordan Yamamoto, who batted 2-for-3 in the title game with a game-clinching 2-run double, the Crusaders routed the Trojans in a mercy-rule shortened game to win its first baseball crown since 1974.

The Crusaders got a key performance on the mound in the final game by junior Pono Anderson, who stymied the Trojans lineup for five-innings of shutout ball.

7. Halushka's hat trick lifts Kamehameha to D1 state title
http://scoringlive.com/story.php?storyid=11407

Kamehemeha-Kapalama got a hat trick from Kiani Halushka to fuel the Warriors' 4-0 win over Aiea in the Division I state soccer championship game, the first three-goal performance in the title match since Millie Dydasco scored the triple for Castle in 1982.

The Warriors' win ended a spectacular run to the title for Aiea, who entered the tournament as the OIA sixth seed, but took down Konawaena, Kaiser and Kapolei in succession to make the final.

6. Iolani claims Division I crown with 43-40 win over Farrington

In a low-scoring affair, Dean Shimamoto's squad climbed to the top of the prep basketball summit for the first time since 2010, leaning on Ikaika Phillips' 15 points and 8 boards in a 3-point squeaker over Farrington at Neal S. Blaisdell Center.

The Raiders, who also won the Pizza Hut Free Throw Challenge in 2014, hit 16-of-24 free throws in the championship game.

Farrington forward Jacob McEnroe posted a double-double, with 16 points and 10 boards, both game-highs.

5. 'Iolani wins state crown with 2-0 shutout of Punahou

The Raiders claimed a football title of a different kind in 2014, this time on the pitch and not the gridiron, and did it with perfection.

Max Ching and Keoni Makekau scored goals in the second-half to propel Iolani over Punahou in the Division I title game, helping Iolani to cap a 15-0 season with a ninth state crown.

4. Dozens of student-athletes participate in PIAA signing day ceremony
http://scoringlive.com/story.php?storyid=11373

The 2014 edition of the Pacific Islands Athletic Alliance National Letter of Intent Signing Day ceremony was for the most part ceremonial, with the one surprise coming in the form of change from the University of Hawaii to the University of Southern Calfornia for All-Hawaii Offensive POY and standout volleyball player Larry 'Tui' Tuileta.

In all, fifty-five high school seniors signed and faxed binding letters to colleges and universities across the country.

3. Milton powers No. 2 Mililani to 63-47 win over No. 3 Saint Louis

The return of Cal Lee to the helm of Saint Louis football was a historic one, though not quite the history Crusader faithful were expecting to make.

Mililani scored the most points in school history, led by 571 yards of total offense and 7 touchdowns by McKenzie Milton. The mark was also the most allowed by a Saint Louis team in the history of its program as well.

Milton's video game numbers aside, Saint Louis gave gridiron fans a taste of what was to come in the form of sophomore signal caller Tua Tagovailoa, who dazzled in defeat with a 18-of-28 for 198 and 5 TD stat line with no interceptions.

2. Mililani dethrones Punahou, 53-45, to win first crown
http://scoringlive.com/story.php?storyid=12305

This game might have ended up second on the list, but it ranks as arguably one of the best contests ever witnessed in the history of the state football tournament.

Mililani held off Punahou in the highest-scoring game in tourney history, one that saw the two teams combine for a jaw-dropping 1,214 yards of total offense, as the Trojans toppled the defending state champs to take home the first state football title back to Meheula Parkway

The seven TDs thrown by McKenzie Milton was one shy of Saint Louis' QB Timmy Chang's record set in 1999, and Kalakaua Timoteo tied Saint Louis' Desmond Hanohano with 4 touchdown grabs.

Record marks were also set for longest interception return for TD (83 yards) by Ty Purcell-Apana and Jet Joner kicked a 53-yard field goal to break Cameron Mercado's previous tourney long of 49.

1. Unranked Kaiser shocks No. 3 Kahuku, 20-19
http://scoringlive.com/story.php?storyid=12044

The most read, and arguably most eyebrow-raising win of the year came on September 20, when the Red Raiders traveled to Hawaii Kai to face the Cougars.

Seven total turnovers were critical for Kahuku, which included three interceptions and four fumbles.

Kaiser rode workhorse running back Jensen McDaniel to the tune 29 carries for 100 yards on the ground, and also found him in the passing game for another 93 yards and a score. Kalawaia Judd called his own number for the game-tying TD plunge, and Matt Sai, who had missed on 2 field goals and a PAT in the contest prior, cooly knocked through the game's final point.
