After coming off to its first loss against No. 4 Saint Louis last week, Kamehameha-Kapalama shook the sweat off its back this Saturday afternoon.

In an Interscholastic League of Honolulu interdivision game, the Warriors snagged a 76-26 victory against the Pac-Five Wolfpack at the Hawaiian Airlines Field at Aloha Stadium.

Despite their 50-point lead, their win did not come easy. During a grueling two-hour first half, it incurred 19 penalties for 225 yards, which resulted in 11 of 18 first downs made by Pac-Five.

But the Warriors did not allow the Wolfpack to seize an upper hand in this game.

"We're just trying to get better every week," Warriors head coach Doug Cosbie said. "Keep working hard and improving."

Throughout the game, Kamehameha-Kapalama, ranked No. 6 in the ScoringLive/OC16 Division I Power Rankings, clenched onto their offensive reins with 31 first downs and scattered their scoring plays among its players.

The team combined for 675 yards of net offense and 494 yards of net rushes compared to the Wolfpack's 248 and 19, respectively.

Quarterback Noah Sua-Godinet completed 9 of 14 passes for 152 yards, three of which were TD passes. Running back Keola Pedrina led the team with 11 rushes for 131 yards and a TD.

Kamehameha-Kapalama was not untouchable, however, as Wolfpack quarterback Kainoa Ferreira loosened his opponent's grip after completing 13 of 41 passes for 229 yards.

In doing so, Pac-Five's scoring plays primarily sprung up from Ferreira's four TD passes during the first half—two to Grey Ihu for a combined 59 yards, one to Tsubasa Brennan for 84 yards alongside a two-point conversion, and another to Sean Kinel for 15 yards.  On the receiving end, Ihu completed 117 yards for two TDs.

Both teams evidently suffered under a strenuous but productive first half and combined for 11 TDs in the first two quarters (KSK 7, P5 4). However, the Warriors were able to put a plug on the Wolfpack's offense, reducing them to a scoreless second half while adding four more on their side.

And despite the penalties dealt to the Warriors, Cosbie said that the team "just finds a way to work through it."

This is the 14th game in state history where both teams combined for at least 100 points.

Kamehameha-Kapalama improved to 4-1 overall and will face Iolani, which is currently atop ILH Division II and ranked second in the Division II Power Rankings, on Friday. Pac-Five suffered its third straight loss and is now 2-3 overall. The Wolfpack will face a giant in undefeated and top-ranked Punahou at Aloha Stadium on Friday.
