Recent Waiakea graduate Kodi Medeiros, a left-handed power pitcher, was named to the Baseball America All-America second team, according to the publication's website.

Medeiros, the 12th overall pick in the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers, was the only player from Hawaii to be selected. He recently signed for a $2.5 million bonus and has reported to the Brewers' training camp in Arizona.
