The Oahu Interscholastic Association girls basketball concluded its regular season Monday night and the seedings for the upcoming Red (Division I) and White (Division II) league tournaments are set.
Unbeatens Roosevelt (10-0) and Mililani (10-0) ran the table in the East and West, respectively, and will be the top seeds in the 12-team Red Tournament. Moanalua (8-2) and reigning champion Leilehua (9-1) will be the second seeds. All four teams will receive first-round byes.
Kailua (7-3) is the East no. 3 seed, Kaiser (7-3) fourth, Kahuku (5-5) fifth and McKinley (3-7) sixth. Nanakuli (7-3) is the West no. 3 seed, Kapolei (7-3) fourth, Radford (6-4) fifth and Waianae (5-5) sixth.
The Red Tournament begins Tuesday with four first-round (elimination) games. Waianae visits Kailua, Nanakuli will host McKinley, Kahuku travels to Kapolei and Kaiser hosts Radford.
In quarterfinal games Wednesday, Roosevelt will take on the winner of Kapolei-Kahuku, Leilehua hosts the Kailua-Waianae winner, Moanalua meets the Nanakuli-McKinley winner and Mililani hosts the winner of Kaiser-Radford.
The semifinals will be played on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. at Radford's Jim Alegre Gymnasium. The winners advance to the championship game on Jan. 29. The top six teams advance to the Division I state tournament.
The White Tournament starts on Wednesday, Jan. 22 with East No. 2 Kalani (6-4) hosting West No. 3 Waipahu (1-9) and West No. 2 Pearl City (2-8) hosting East No. 3 Castle (6-4). Top seeds Farrington (7-3) and Campbell (3-7) have a bye into the semifinals on Friday, Jan. 24. The winners advance to the championship game on Jan. 29. The top three teams advance to the Division II state tournament.
