Campbell boys, Pearl City girls claim dual meet titles


The Campbell boys and Pearl City girls bested the competition to win the Moanalua Holiday Wrestling Dual Meet Tournament Saturday.

The two-day tournament featured 18 boys teams, including squads from Washington, Guam and American Samoa, and 13 girls teams.

In the boys' final, Campbell defeated Punahou 46-20. The Sabers defeated Radford 49-24 in a quarterfinal bout and edged Pearl City 35-33 in a tight semifinal. The Chargers claimed third, Kapolei fourth, Kamehameha fifth and Radford sixth.

Pearl City won the girls' final by virtue of a 45-30 win over Punahou. Kamehameha was third, a combined team of Campbell, Aiea and Lanai finished fourth, Leilehua fifth and Kapolei sixth.
