Defending D1, D2 champs highlight Pete Smith tournanment


Defending Division I and Division II state champions Kalaheo and Saint Francis, respectively, highlight the annual Pete Smith Basketball Classic set for Thursday through Saturday at Kalaheo.

The tournament honors the late Pete Smith, the winningest coach in Kalaheo basketball history.  He guided the Mustangs to three state titles and 14 OIA crowns during his 18-year tenure.

Note:  There was a last-minute change in Thursday's third and fourth games.

Thursday
Campbell vs. Saint Francis, 4 p.m.
Konawaena vs. Mililani, 5:30 p.m.

Maryknoll II vs. Kalaheo, 7 p.m.

Punahou II vs. Le Jardin, 8:30 p.m.

Friday
Fifth-place semifinals, 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
Semifinals, 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
Saturday
Championship, 7:30 p.m.
Third place, 6 p.m.
Fifth place, 4:30 p.m.
Seventh place, 3 p.m.
