Saint Francis tops Drumheller for historic first victory

Saint Francis won their first game as a varsity football program, defeating Drumheller, the two-time defending Alberta Tier IV provincial champion, 42-14, at Waipahu's Masa Yonamine Athletic Complex.

Junior quarterback Ranan Mamiya led the way, scoring all 22 of the Saints' points in the first half, which included two rushing scores, a 60-yard punt return as well as a pair of two-point conversions on the point-after. He totalled 84 rushing yards on 7 carries and added 35 yards through the air on 6-of-8 attempts, racking up 179 of total offense before having to leave the game just before the half with an elbow injury and did not return to action.

The Saints (1-1) open up their ILH regular season campaign on August 30 against Iolani at Kozuki Stadium.
