Radford shut out Anuenue in an OIA White opener for both teams at John E. Velasco Stadium. Radford improves to 1-0 in the White, 2-0 overall while Anuenue falls to 0-1 in the White, 0-2 overall.

The Rams rushed for a game high 213 yards, led by running backs Tobias Powell and Chance Cacatian.

"We want to make sure we control the line of scrimmage. We wanted to make sure we are 2-dimensional we don't want to be one dimensional in either passing or running so that's what we tried to establish today. Early on our run game was working so we stuck with that," said Radford coach Fred Salanoa.

"I did exceptionally well, I want to give my offensive line a shout out because without them there is no me," said Tobias Powell.

Powell got the Rams up early with a 1-yard and 40-yard touchdown respectively early in the first quarter to put Radford up, 14-0.

"He's a great addition to our team and I am happy he's here with us. He's very smart, a nice kid and very respectful. He's a team player," said Salanoa.

Powell finished the game with 4 carries for 74 yards and 2 touchdowns. Despite not playing football for about six years, Powell looks like he didn't miss a beat. Last year he was a contributor to Maryknoll's basketball team before transferring to Radford.

"When I lived in Alabama I played football all the way up until I got here in seventh grade, that's when I started playing basketball. I stopped playing football because I broke my collar bone, but I promised my mom I would play my senior year," said Powell.

Rashone Osborne scored a 7 yard touchdown, but the PAT was blocked putting the Rams up 20-0.

Radford went up 26-0 after quarterback Cody Lui-Yuen found Absolom Henry for a 28 yard touchdown pass with 2:13 remaining.

In the second quarter, Lui-Yuen hit Jameson Pasigan for a 26 yard touchdown a 5 yard touchdown and Chance Cacatian added another as he rushed for a 67 yard touchdown as the Rams went up 47-0 going into halftime.

Lui-Yuen completed the game 8-of-10 passing for 147 yards and 3 touchdowns.

In the third quarter, Cacatian rushed for a 4 yard touchdown and later Kaimi Mercado took the sweep and rushed for a 12 yard touchdown.

Late in the third quarter with Radford up 61-0, Anuenue lineman Kaleo Gaspar was feeling queasy from dehydration, prompting concern from both Anuenue and Radford coaches.

"I went over to talk over with the referees and the coach (Kealoha Wengler). It was no disrespect to their team, but I do not want anyone passing out on our field. We're here as coaches and we need to make the right decision and I went over and asked if they wanted to call it quits for the game just so that everyone stays safe. They still wanted to play and it was their call, so we continued to play. They're a fighting team, short in numbers but big in heart. I give credit to them and Kealoha, he does a great job with the guys he has. They played their hearts out today and represent their Hawaiian culture well," said Salanoa.

In the fourth quarter, Izaiah Lavatai had a 70 yard interception return to put the Rams up 67-0 and sealed the game.
