MILILANI - Kamana Pimental rushed for 171 yards and Kawai Mook-Garcia accounted for three touchdowns to lead Saint Louis to a convincing 55-20 win over Mililani in the non-league finale for both teams Saturday night.

The Crusaders, ranked second in the ScoringLive Power Rankings, tallied 439 yards of total offense - including 272 rushing - to improve to 3-0 before a crowd of about 2,500 at John Kauinana Stadium.

"It was nice coming home," said Saint Louis head coach Darnell Arceneaux, who previously was the Trojans' head coach for three seasons from 2008 to 2010. "I live in Mililani, my wife teaches (at Mililani High), it was a great atmosphere and a great environment to watch a high school football game. I'm just glad that I got to be a part of it."

The Crusaders' defense bent - allowing 359 yards through the air - but did not break. Saint Louis' defensive line - led by ends Kalei Auelua and Kamalei Correa - disrupted Mililani quarterback Jarin Morikawa all night. Auelua, a 6-foot-4, 250-pound senior, returned a fumble 90 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter to go with three sacks.

"They did some great things," Arceneaux said of his defense, which held the Trojans to minus 19 yards on 33 rushes.

Mililani got on the board first with a 4-yard run by Akana Arquette early in the first quarter, but Auelua's fumble return brought his team back within one after a failed extra point.

Mook-Garcia snuck it in from a yard out on the second play of the second quarter to put Saint Louis ahead for good. Aaron Goo tacked on the PAT to make it, 13-7.

Morikawa led the Trojans on an 80-yard drive, capped by an 18-yard TD pass to Deshawn Duncan-Benson, on their next possession. The play was set-up by a 47-yard connection between Morikawa and Kaimi Wilson earlier in the drive. Wilson, who left the game in the second quarter with an apparent shoulder injury, finished with four grabs for 152 yards.

After Ryan Tokunaga converted the extra point, the score was 14-13 with 10:30 left in the second quarter. However, Mook-Garcia and Joseph Kea hooked up for a 59-yard score two plays later to put the Crusders back ahead by six after the Goo PAT. On the scoring play, Mook-Garcia layed off the screen pass to Kea, who went untouched down the right sideline to paydirt.

Saint Louis added a score before the half on a 2-yard Pimental run, who side-stepped a defender at the line of scrimmage and snuck just inside of the left pylon for the touchdown. The Crusaders held a 27-14 lead at the half.

Mililani again pulled within a score after a 30-yard TD pass from Morikawa to Duncan-Benson midway through the third quarter. However, Saint Louis scored the final 28 points of the game to run away with it.

"They're a solid team, they're the No. 1 program in the state," Trojans' head coach Rod York said of the reigning Division I state champions. "I thought we did a good job in the first half, but you know, you have to play four quarters."

Jeremy Tabuyo returned a kickoff 99 yards for a score soon after to ignite the Crusaders' furious finish. Pimental scored his second touchdown of the game - another two-yard plunge - on Saint Louis' next drive to make it 41-20.

"We just tried to key on the middle and hit it straight up the gap," said Pimental, who averaged over 10 yards on each of his 17 carries. "I'm really blessed with a really good O-line and good coaching."

Mook-Garcia extended his team's lead with a 47-yard TD pass to tight end Dallas Tuumalo, who broke three tackles en route to the end zone, to make it 48-20 after three quarters. Saint Louis added a late score on a 91-yard run by Zeke Wallace.

Duncan-Benson finished with 14 catches for 142 yards and Morikawa threw for 350 yards on 24-of-41 passing for Mililani, which fell to 1-2. Mook-Garcia was 9 of 17 for 167 yards.
