Former Charger Numata named to minor league all-star game


Pearl City High graduate Chace Numata was named to the Northern Division team for the South Atlantic League all-star game June 18 in Lakewood, NJ, according to Baseball America online.

Numata is one of three catchers on the Northern Division team. He plays for the Lakewood BlueClaws, a Single-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, which picked him in the 14th round in 2010 out of Pearl City High.

He was hitting .268 with two home runs and 20 RBI, as of June 1.
