Kailua outscored Kalani 5-1 in the final three innings to come away with an important 7-4 victory on the road over the Falcons at Kahala Field.

The win over the Falcons improved the Surfriders to 6-4 on the season in the OIA Red East. Kailua finishes up the regular season with games against division leaders Castle (8-1) and Moanalua (7-3).

The Surfiders got on the board first as Corey Louis-Soares singled to start the game and scored on a fielder's choice. The home team responded with three runs of their own in the bottom of the first, as Micah Wong drew a lead off walk, then advanced to second on a Sean Romo single. Royce Yamamoto lined a double to right field to score Wong and move Romo to third.

Romo later scored on an error from third, and Yamamoto came home on a bases loaded walk to complete the scoring in the inning for the Falcons.

Kailua put up another run in the second as Peter Kanoho led off the inning with a double and came home to score on another fielder's choice.

A two-run fifth inning pushed Kailua back into the lead as Wyatt D'Alessio singled to score Joseph Byers, and Louis-Soares trotted home on a bases-loaded walk.

The Surfriders added three more runs to seal the deal, two in the sixth and another insurance run in the seventh.

Starter Bryce Ah Sam went 5 2/3 innings to pick up the victory, allowing 4 runs (3 earned) on four base hits, striking out six and walking five. Keola Himan came on in relief of Ah Sam and pitched 1 1/3 innings of scoreless baseball with 2 strikeouts to earn the save.

Peter Kanoho was 2-for-3 with a double and 2 runs scored, Louis-Soares scores 2 runs on a 1-for-4 day from the leadoff spot, and Royce Komesu drove in 2 runs and scored another.

The Falcons were led by Yamamoto, who had a 2-for-4 day at the plate, with a double, a RBi and a run scored. Dallas Asuncion pitched a solid 4 1/3 innings in defeat, allowing three runs on five hits with two walks.

Kalani, which had been riding a two-game win streak in the very competitive East, dropped to 4-6. The Falcons conclude their regular season with road games against Kalaheo and Moanalua.
