WAIPIO - Casey Thompson and the Trojans dismantled the Red Raiders in a 3-0 win Thursday night. With the victory, Mililani moves to play Punahou Friday night in the semifinals of the Outrigger Hotels and Resorts/HHSAA Division I Girls Soccer State Championships.

"It was good for us," said Trojans coach Ray Akiona. "We were happy the way we came out. Any time you come out with a win, you're satisfied."

Mililani got on the board in the 14th minute of the first period. A through ball by Senior TJ Reyno hit Trojans Brittney Yoshimura. The senior danced her way past the Red Raider defenders and with a low shot past the keeper, Mililani was up by one.

"TJ is one of our playmakers. She plays really well," said Akiona. "She has the confidence and experience. Got to give it to her, she works hard for it."

Trojans Casey Thompson came off the bench to provide the next set of highlights for Mililani. The sophomore connected with Reyno on a cross in the 23rd minute of play. Reyno, with a volley into the back of the net from the Thompson pass, put the Trojans up by two.

Thompson got the Trojans another goal four minutes later. A corner kick from Senior Alisha Miyashiro found the head of Thompson, who finished the ball past the keeper. The header for a score put Mililani up by three in the 27th minute.

"Casey is a very special person. Very useful to our team," said Akiona. "She can play defense, offense…great player to have."

With the loss, Kahuku will play Kamehameha Maui Friday in a 3:00 p.m. consolation matchup.
