In a contest that was tight from start to finish, Pearl City outlasted McKinley in the opening game of the Jim Alegre Invitational at Radford, 41-39.

Daiccori Briscoe scored a game-high 12 points and Isaac Amorin added 10 more, including 2 from three-point range for the Chargers, who clung to a 29-26 lead after three quarters of play.

The score was tied 22-all at halftime.

Joseph Alzona led the Tigers with nine points, all of them coming from long distance.

Pearl City will take on Kamehameha, a 47-35 winner over Leilehua, in the first semifinal Friday. Tip off is set for 6:00 p.m.
