Punahou School will travel to the Mainland for the first time since 2008 to play Vista, of San Diego, Sept. 3 at Dick Haines Stadium in Vista, Calif.

The Buffanblu will leave Aug. 31 and return Sept. 5, the Labor Day holiday.

The Vista Panthers are defending California Interscholastic Federation San Diego Section Division I champions.

The game is 7 p.m., PST.

Coach Kale Ane said the team will fly to Los Angeles and take bus to Vista, which is in San Diego County. Besides the game, the players will make campus visits to Southern California and the University of San Diego, where they also will practice. Ane said the players also will visit the Navy SEALS.

The last time Punahou played on the Mainland was against Central Kitsap (Wash.) at Qwest Field in Seattle. Punahou won that games, 42-19.
