Kainoa Obrey named 'Iolani girls volleyball head coach


'Iolani School 1999 graduate Kainoa Obrey was named as the head of the 'Iolani School girls varsity volleyball program, according to a press release issued by the school.

He replaces Jenic Tumaneng who stepped down.

Obrey has been the assistant director and head coach of� technical development for the Ku'ikahi Volleyball Club since 2005. He was also the boys volleyball coach at Mid-Pacific Institute from 2007 to 2010. In 2008, he was named ILH Volleyball co-Coach of the Year. He has also coached at Hawaii Baptist Academy and Hawaii Pacific University.

Obrey is a graduate of Brigham Young University and also played professional baseball for the St. Louis Cardinals.
