On Homecoming Night, Kaiser made the most of limited first-half offensive opportunities in the first half, then exploded for 29 points coming out of halftime to race past Anuenue, 50-12.

The Cougars improved to 3-2 overall, 3-1 in the O'ahu Interscholastic Association's White Conference; Na Koa fell to 1-4, 1-3.

Kaiser struck first midway through the first quarter on Kai Gonda's 5-yard touchdown run, then extended the lead to 14-0 at the end of the quarter after Fitou Fisiiahi recovered a loose ball in the end zone following an errant punt snap.

That's how it stood at the end of the second quarter, as both teams combined for just 177 yards of offense in a half which featured a nearly 11-minute drive by Anuenue.

Fisiiahi capped the Cougars' drive to open the second half with a 33-yard TD scamper, then recovered a fumble on Na Koa's next play from scrimmage. On the ensuing drive, Gonda cashed in with a 6-yard touchdown run to help make it 28-0, and it became 35-0 after a 24-yard scoring pass from Gonda to Christian Clapp.

Then for the second time in as many weeks, Kai Gonda scored a touchdown following a Cougars' safety, this time from 60 yards, one of his four total touchdowns on the evening.

Anuenue got on the board at the 10:19 mark in the fourth quarter to make it 43-6, on Anuenue Tui's 5-yard run, and posted a second score at the 2:35 mark on a Kainalu Kaleo 2-yard dive play.
