Winona Pauline's three-run blast over the wall in left center was the difference as Kapolei rallied to a 7-5 win over Kailua in an opening round clash of the DataHouse Softball State Championships at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.

Pauline also contributed on the mound, pitching a three-hitter with seven strikeouts, and Mikela Manewa had a strong day at the dish for Kapolei, going 2-for-4 with a double, a triple and an RBI.

Kapolei advances to take on fourth-seed Hilo in a 1:00 p.m. quarterfinal tomorrow.
