Keiki Carlos fired a one-hitter, facing only two batters of the minimum, to help Mid-Pacific beat Leilehua, 12-1, in Thursday's quarterfinal of the DataHouse Division I state softball tournament at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.

The second-seeded Owls will face unseeded Castle in Friday's 7 p.m. championship.

Carlos gave up single to Leilehua's first batter of the game, Maegan Tupinio. She scored when Chenoa Au reached on a two-base throwing error by Carlos. Au, though, was caught trying to advance to third on the play. Carlos retired the next 16 in a row before Tupinio reached on an error with two out in the bottom of the sixth.

Kaydi Kochi, Kaci Aoki and Tori Hamura each had two RBI for the Owls, who rolled up 11 hits.
