Pac-Five lands top seed for D2 tournament


Interscholastic League of Honolulu champion Pac-Five is the top seed for the DataHouse Division II state softball tournament, which runs Tuesday through Friday.

Following the Wolf Pack are second-seeded Waimea of the Kauai Interscholastic Federation, Kahuku of the O'ahu Interscholastic Federation and Konawaena of the Big Island Interscholastic Federation.

The tournament will be at Patsy T. Mink Central O'ahu Regional Park, except for the championship, which will precede the D1 championship Friday at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.

Saint Francis secured the final tournament berth by beating Kauai, 24-11, Saturday at Isenberg Field on Kauai in game called after six innings because of the 10-run mercy rule.

Tuesday's opening round at CORP

Mololai vs. Kalaheo, 7 p.m.
Field 2
Honokaa vs. Saint Francis, 5 p.m.
Hana vs. Waialua, 7 p.m.

Wednesday's quarterfinals at CORP
Field 1
Konawaena vs. winner of Waipahu-Kohala, 5 p.m.
Pac-Five vs. winner of Molokai-Kalaheo, 7 p.m.
Field 2
Kahuku vs. winner of Hana-Waialua, 5 p.m.
Waimea vs. winner of Honokaa-Saint Francis, 7 p.m.
