Taliaferro takes helm at Punahou

Punahou School announced today that Kekoa Taliaferro has been named head coach for girls varsity basketball.

Taliaferro served as head coach of Punahou girls JV basketball from 2003 to 2008, and boys varsity basketball assistant from 2009 to 2010. He also coached intermediate teams at the School.

As head varsity coach, Taliaferro will oversee teams from the intermediate through varsity levels.

"We're thrilled to have Kekoa join our girls basketball program," said Punahou Athletic Director Jeaney Garcia. "He's a wonderful coach and mentor who reflects the values of sportsmanship and service that are central to our athletic program."

"I look forward to working with the girls and feel honored to be part of a tradition of excellence that has shaped my life," said Taliaferro, a 1999 Punahou graduate and member of the Positive Coaching Alliance.
