Slusher named boys head coach at MPI

Mid Pacific Institute announced Carol Slusher as the new head coach for the Boys Volleyball Program. Slusher coached at Christian Academy and ran a boys summer volleyball camp for Paulele Volleyball Club.

Before coming to Hawaii in 2008, she coached at the Richmond Volleyball Club in Virginia, one of the nation's biggest volleyball clubs.

"Carol is very experienced as highly qualified as a volleyball coach and mentor. She has been successful at developing young men into competitive volleyball players at the national level and we look forward to giving her the opportunity to apply her knowledge to our program and student-athletes" says MPI Athletic Director Jo Ito. "We were sad to see Kainoa Obrey [the former head coach] leave our program, but we are confident that we have found a very capable replacement in Carol."

Slusher will coach the Boys Varsity team while also overseeing all levels of the Boys Volleyball Program including the CSAL teams.
