Punahou cracks PrepVolleyball.com national rankings

On the strength of its two wins in four days against rival Kamehameha, Punahou made its season debut in PrepVolleyball.com's Century Club National High School Rankings, the web site announced Friday.

The Buffanblu (17-2), who beat the Warriors (31-5, which includes preseason and a Mainland tournament) in the Interscholastic League of Honolulu second round and again for the overall league title this past week, is No. 60.

Kamehameha, which has been in the Century Club since the preseason rankings, dropped from No. 50 to No. 63.

Both Punahou and Kamehameha will represent its league in the Division I state tournament Oct. 27 to 30 in Upcountry Maui. The two sites will be King Kekaulike and Kamehameha-Maui.
