Imagine when they get their act together.

The Saint Louis Crusaders might not have lived up to their coach's expectations, yet still had enough fire power in a 41-14 Interscholastic League of Honolulu football victory against 'Iolani Saturday night at Aloha Stadium.

Saint Louis (7-1 overall, 5-1 ILH), No. 2 in the ScoringLive-OC16 Football Power Rankings, stormed to a 21-0 first-quarter lead, only to watch No. 9 'Iolani (5-3, 3-2) chip away to 21-14 before the half. But the Crusaders rebounded with a 20-point third quarter, scoring two TDs less than two minutes apart.

But to Saint Louis coach Darnell Arceneaux, his team didn't exactly meet expectations.

"We played very undisciplined," Arceneaux said. "That's my fault. I gotta correct it, guys doing their own thing. It's going to kill us. It's going to come back to haunt us. That's an issue we're going to address.

"To their credit, we told the guys you just have to do your job and trust what we're doing. My staff understands what needs to be done. We're putting them in good situations, but we have to be committed to what we're trying to do and don't be selfish."

Saints' QB Marcus Mariota was an efficient 15 of 19 for 177 yards and three TDs, two to Duke Bukoski (13 and 49 yards) and one to tight end Dallas Tuumalo (seven yards).

The Crusaders' defense forced a turnover early that led to Saint Louis' second TD of the game and DB Leland Gomez returned an interception 27 yards for a TD. The Crusaders also had six sacks, two by defensive end Jude Parker, who also forced the fumble that led to a Saints TD.

"I give credit to by DBs," Parker said of his team's sacks. "They're good in coverage. That's how we got those sacks. Everybody just played together as a team and hustled."

In a game that featured offenses that play as if they're double-parked, the Crusaders hurried their way down field without huddling, moving 80 yards in five plays after taking the opening kickoff with Mariota hitting Bukoski on a 13-yard TD pass.

After Parker's forced fumble that was recovered by linebacker Starr Sua at the 'Iolani 12, the Saints cashed in with a four-yard TD run by Derek Nakasato to make it 14-0 less than five minutes into the game.

On the Crusaders' next series, Nakasato ripped off 38 yards for a TD to make it 21-0 still in the first quarter.

But 'Iolani, which also runs without a huddle, blitzed back with two TDs in the second quarter to pull to 21-14. On fourth-and-2, QB Reece Foy connected with Josiah Sukumaran on a three-yard TD pass and later his Bret Christman on a nine-yard TD pass.

If the Raiders harbored any hope of a comeback, it was quickly extinguished in the third quarter. Gomez intercepted Foy on the first play from scrimmage to start the half and returned the ball 27 yards for a TD.

'Iolani's next series lasted four plays and two minutes before it had to punt. On first down, Mariota hit Bukoski on a 49-yard catch-and-run TD to make it 35-14 with 9:34 left in the third quarter.

Saint Louis put the finishing touch on its next series when it traveled 81 yards on 12 plays with Mariota firing a seven-yard TD pass to Tuumalo with 37 seconds left in the third quarter.

The first-place Crusaders have two more games left, both against Division I foes Punahou and Kamehameha. They own a two-game lead on both teams with all three having two games to go.
