Third Chace Numata Senior All-Star Game set for Saturday

The third annual Chace Numata Senior All-Star Game will be played 11 a.m. Saturday at Joey DeSa Field.

The game is played in the memory of Chace Numata, an all-state player for Pearl City in 2010. He was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies that year, but he died in a skateboarding accident in 2019 in Erie, Pennsylvania, where he was playing for the Erie Seawolves, the Detroit Tigers Double-A affiliate.

The participants are recent graduates or in some cases, graduating later in the day.

Pregame festivities begin at 10 a.m. Once again, there will be a "pop-time" catchers' contest with the winner getting a mitt from SportsStan.
