'Iolani announces head coach for girls water polo


'Iolani School has named Brennan Shum as the new varsity head coach for its girls water polo program, according to a press release issued by the school.

Shum's experience includes coaching for the Mark Keppel High School girls team in California and the 'Iolani boys water polo team. He played water polo for Alhambra High School in California and later at the University of Southern California in 1995 and 1996 where he was voted the 1996 most improved player. USC claimed the 1996 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation championship and finished second in the NCAA tournament. He has also worked as an official for high school water polo in Honolulu and California.

He replaces Ian Kusao who relocated to the mainland.
