Within the first few minutes of their first match of 2020, the Pearl City Chargers definitely looked like a team that was playing in their first contest in 11 days.
But they were able to regroup and start the new year with a 3-1 win over visiting Kapolei Tuesday night at Bino Neves Stadium.
Soraya Santos found the back of the net twice and Kaila Takai scored the go-ahead goal in the 26th minute on a defensive miscue to help Pearl City improve to 6-2 in the OIA West standings.
After Kapolei's Bryana Yoshida gave the Hurricanes (4-4) the lead in the fifth minute, Santos provided the equalizer in the 13th minute.
Santos also headed in the final goal of the game on a corner kick within the opening minutes of the second half.
