KAPIOLANI — Iolani sophomores Lily Wahinekapu and Kyra Tanabe put up 15 and 11 points, respectively, to lead the top-ranked Raiders past No. 3 Maryknoll, 52-39, in Interscholastic League of Honolulu play Tuesday evening at Iolani's Lower Gym.
The Raiders improved to 7-1 on the season while the Spartans dropped to 4-3. Iolani also won the two teams' first meeting, 62-39, back on Dec. 5, 2018.
Fellow sophomore Alexsandra Huntimer followed with eight points for Iolani.
Jalen Tanuvasa led the Spartans charge and finished with 21 points with 3-of-5 shooting on free throws.
The Spartans close out the ILH first round regular season with Punahou (4-3), Kamehameha (5-2) and Sacred Hearts (1-6). Iolani finishes with Sacred Hearts and Mid-Pacific (1-7).
The ILH second round tournament starts later this month on Jan. 23.
