KAPIOLANI — The eighth-ranked Iolani Raiders kept their season rolling with a big 42-6 homecoming victory over visiting Radford in an Oahu Interscholastic Association-Interscholastic League of Honolulu Division I interleague matchup at Eddie Hamada Field at Kozuki Stadium Friday afternoon.
Iolani scored all 42 of their points before Radford got on the board late in the fourth quarter of a mercy rule running clock game.
Coming off a 40-carry, 230-yard performance a week ago, Raiders running back Kaua Nishigaya followed with 13 carries for 44 yards and a one-yard score in the second quarter to make it 28-0.
Quarterback Jonah Chong threw for three touchdowns, connecting with Carter Kamana twice for scores of 23 and 37 yards.
It was the third consecutive game and fourth of the season that Kamana reached the century mark, hauling in seven receptions for 121 yards.
Chong's first TD pass went for 11 yards to Jonah Miyazawa on the opening drive of the game.
Kyler Mento nabbed two interceptions, returning his first one 37 yards for a pick six at the 1:33 mark of the first quarter.
Iolani improved to 4-1 in the ILH standings (5-2 overall) and will travel to Nanakuli next Saturday.
Radford fell to 1-6 overall but stays at 1-3 in the OIA standings. They'll look to defend the (Salt Lake) boulevard against Moanalua Friday night.
