Kalaheo outscored visiting Kaiser by six in the second half to pull away for a 49-46 win in the Oahu Interscholastic Association Division I quarterfinals at Pete Smith Court Friday night.
Andrew Kearney scored 19 points to lead the Mustangs into Monday's semifinal against Kapolei, the top-seeded team from the league's Western Conference. The two teams will play in the second semifinal game at McKinley's Student Council Gymnasium.
Cannen Chiu and Ryan Pardini also combined for 17 points and three made triples to help Kalaheo lock up one of the league's six state berths into the Snapple Division I Boys Basketball Championships.
Hunter Dias scored a game-high 23 points on six treys to lead the Cougars in the loss.
