Punahou alum Harrison garners national weekly honor

Oregon State freshman KJ Harrison, a Punahou alumnus, was named National College Baseball Writers Association National Hitter of the Week, according to the OSU athletics website.

The Beavers' first baseman and catcher was also named Pac-12 Player of the Week on Monday.

Harrison, an All-Hawaii selection last season,  batted .455 (10 for 22) with two doubles, a triple and two home runs with 10 RBI in five games last week.

He is one of two players from Hawaii on the OSU squad. Iolani alumnus Christian Donohue, also a freshman, is the shortstop for the Beavers. He also was an All-Hawaii selection last season.
