Harrison confirms he is out as Punahou coach

Kenny Harrison has confirmed that he has been let go as Punahou School's baseball coach.

Harrison, who just completed his third season at the helm, was told by school administrators that, "they wanted the program to go in a different direction," he said.

Harrison said he was informed of the decision about a week ago.

Punahou finished fifth in the six-team Interscholastic League of Honolulu Division I with a 3-12-1 overall record. During Harrison's tenure, the Buffanblu finished third at 15-4 in 2012 and fourth at 6-9 in 2013. Punahou made the state tournament in 2012, losing its opening-round game to Hilo, but ending up winning the consolation championship against Moanalua.
