Aiea rallies from 21-0 deficit to down Radford, 24-21

AIEA - Quarterback Isaiah Fonoti hit Hunter Va'a on a five-yard touchdown pass with four minutes, 38 seconds left to rally Aiea past Radford, 24-21, Saturday in Oahu Interscholastic Association Red West football.

Aiea (3-4 overall, 2-3 Red West) kept itself in the playoff picture with its second win in a row. Radford (1-6, 1-4) will have to beat Waianae (2-3) next week to stay in the playoff hunt. The top six teams from each division advance to the OIA tournament; the top two seeds - Leilehua and Campbell in the West and Farrington and Kahuku in the East - draw first-round byes.

Trailing 21-0 early in the second quarter, Na Alii mounted their rally with Fonoti TD passes of nine yards to Kamakana Apelu and 20 yards to Jarrel Chaviera just before the half to pull to within 21-14.

Aiea got a 30-yard field goal from Jae Won Huh with 11:31 left in the game to pull to 21-17 before Fonoti hit Va'a with the game-winner.

Fonoti was 21 of 40 for 223 yards and three TDs for Aiea.
