East fourth-seed Moanalua took down West fifth-seed Pearl City in straight sets, 25-15, 25-15, 25-13, in an opening round match of the OIA Boys Volleyball Red Division playoffs at Waianae High School gymnasium.

The sweep of the Chargers snapped a two-game skid for Na Menehune, who dropped consecutive matches to Kaiser and McKinley to end the regular season.

Up next for Moanalua is West top-seed Waipahu in a quarterfinal match set for approximately 7:00 p.m. at Waipahu High School gymnasium.
