Off to another fast start, Moanalua (4-1) was never challenged, cruising to a 64-39 home court victory over Kaiser (2-3).
Taking advantage of Kaiser turnovers, Na Menehune rolled to an 18-7 first quarter advantage.
The Cougars narrowed the gap to 9 points by halftime on the strength of some inside buckets, but Moanalua ran away to a 46-28 margin by the end of the third quarter.
Moanaluaʻs Coach Greg Tacon summarized his teamʻs win: "It was nice to knock down shots and that allowed us to breathe a little bit easier. They did a nice job to get close by the end of the half. I thought we responded well in the third quarter and progressed in the right direction from there."
Na Menehune scoring leaders were Kahanu Puʻulei-Auld with 13 and Ola Brown with 9 third quarter points.
Chance Kalaugher had 13 for Kaiser and Tarius Hill scored 10.
On Friday, Moanalua hosts Anuenue, while Kaiser travels to Kalani to return to OIA White East play. The Kaiser-Kalani game will be streamed live on ScoringLive.
