Division I state champion Kahuku is ranked 28th in the National Sports News Service Top 50, according to HighSchoolGridiron.com.Katy (Texas), which was 16-0, is ranked No. 1.De La Salle (Concord, Calif.), which beat Saint Louis here in 2002, is ranked No. 3. The Spartans finished 15-0.Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, Nev.), which beat Saint Louis this past preseason, is No. 14. The Gaels finished their season at 13-1.In the West region of the national rankings, Kahuku placed fifth. De La Salle was first, Bellevue (Wash.) was second, Skyline (Sammamish, Wash.) was third and Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, Nev.) was fourth.Kahuku beat Punahou, 42-20, for its seventh Division I state title this past season. The Red Raiders win streak is at 18 dating to the previous season. They are the first unbeaten team since the 2003 Red Raiders, who went 14-0. It was the 17th time an Oahu team has finished the season unbeaten and untied with 10 or more wins.
