Player of the Year: Seijia Makanani, Kapaa, Sr.

As Makanani went, so did the championship-winning Kapaa Warriors. The 5-foot-6 senior pitcher went 10-3 in the circle and finished the year with a 2.33 ERA in 90 and 1/3 innings pitched. She allowed just 30 earned runs and 65 hits while tallying 95 strikeouts. Makanani was also proficient offensively with a .484 batting average with 26 RBIs. She finished the year with 30 hits and 31 runs scored, which were good for the third most among Division II players. Makanani will continue her playing career collegiately for Georgian Court University.

Coach of the Year: Alani Silva, Kapaa

History was made for the Kapaa softball team in 2022. In Silva's first year at the helm, the Warriors went 12-3-1 and captured their first state crown in school history. The path to the championship included a 16-13 win over Waipahu in the state semifinals, where Kapaa rallied from a 8-1 deficit after the first inning.
