ALOHA STADIUM - Damien fell from the ranks of the unbeatens in what was somewhat of a reality check for the Monarchs, as the Buffanblu put up 360 total yards of offense to cruise to a 28-0 victory Saturday afternoon.

Punahou scored early and often Saturday afternoon. Prolific on all sides of the ball, the Buffanblu move to 2-0 in league play.

The first score came with 4:46 to go in the opening quarter. On third and long, senior quarterback Larry Tuileta connected with receiver Keanu Chee. The 52 yard pass to the senior receiver set up a one yard touchdown run by senior running back Ryan Tuiasoa. That score would be the only score of the first quarter and would put the Buffanblu up 7-0 going into the second period.

Damien was able to hang with Punahou up until the second quarter. The ground game for the Monarchs helped grind the clock out, keeping the Buffanblu offense off the field.

Scoring the second touchdown for Punahou was senior receiver Noah Willey. Willey would score off a 26 yard pitch and catch from Tuileta. That score coming in early in the second quarter would put the Buffanblu up by 14.

Tuileta would throw is second touchdown pass with 6:22 to go until the half. The senior quarterback would find sophomore Kanawai Noa down the sideline for 45 yards. Noa simply burned his defender on his way for the touchdown.

The final score of the afternoon came from a three yard run by junior running back Kotoni Sekona with 2:31 to go until halftime. Punahou would go into the locker rooms with a 28-0 lead that would eventually be the final score.

Punahou would sub out their starters at the half and let the backups finish the game. Quarterback Larry Tuileta finished the game 12 of 13 for 261 yards and two touchdowns.
