Saint Louis WR Jeremy Tabuyo looks for running room last year against Mililani. ScoringLive file photoFarrington and Saint Louis kick off under Thursday night lights at Hawaiian Airlines Field at Aloha Stadium in what will be an early start to this weekend's high school football action.
After riding the legs of backup RB Abraham Silva, who went off for 216 yards and two scores in a 37-23 victory over the Seariders of Waianae, the Governors look for starter and last year's leading rusher, Tyler Taumua, who sat out with a shoulder sprain in Week 1, to return to his spot in the backfield against Saint Louis.
Saint Louis, who was idle in Week 1, will begin what is arguably one of the toughest preseason runs this year, starting with the Govs this week, then HHSAA tournament semifinalist Baldwin a week later, finishing up with mainland power Bishop Gorman on September 1.
The matchup between the Govs and Crusaders is set to kickoff at 7:00 p.m.
Also on tap for tomorrow night is an East-West crossover matchup as the Castle Knights travel westward to face the Aiea Na Alii.
The Knights look to rebound after a 30-7 loss to Kamehameha, a game where Castle was held to just 129 yards of total offense and -29 yards on the ground.
Aiea, who opened the season a 53-6 winner over Kaimuki, hopes to continue their productivity on the offensive side of the ball. Na Alii averaged just 12.7 points per game and 186.8 yards of offense last season, but racked up 53 points and 392 yards of total offense in Week 1.
Kickoff at Aiea Stadium is set for 7:00 p.m.
