Buffanblu compete with nation's best at Clash X meet


The Punahou boys wrestling team recently returned from the mainland, where it competed against some of the nation�s best. The Buffanblu went 2-4 at the Clash X-National Dual Meet Tournament in Rochester, Minn.

Zach Hernandez, a 182-pound senior, went 6-0 with five pins in his matches to lead Punahou and Todd Murakawa (132 pounds) and Bryan Peralta (152) each went 5-1 with two pins apiece.

The two-day tournament had 448 wrestling from 32 teams, including No. 1-ranked St. Edwards (Ohio) and nationally-ranked Clovis (Calif.), Apple Valley (Minn.), Brandon (Fla.) and Baylor (Tenn.).
