Leilehua's Kilaulani, Roosevelt's Fujimoto take White honors


Leilehua sophomore Kayla Kilaulani and Roosevelt senior Jasmine Fujimoto were chosen as the Oahu Interscholastic Association White West and East Players of the Year, respectively.

The OIA submitted the selections that were picked by the White Conference's coaches.

Kalaheo's Roberta Downey and Radford Candace Fujiwara were named East and West Coaches of the Years, respectively.

Leilehua dominated the West first team with five of the eight selections. Joining Kilaulani are seniors Alea Hamm, Krystin Kubo (setter) and Kiana Gabright (libero) and sophomore Ashlee Vaofi.

Other first-team picks in the West are: Radford seniors Imani Wimbush and Rachel Kapesi, and Waialua junior Darian Kalulu-Sugai.

The East's first team had two picks from four of the five schools.

Joining Fujimoto from Roosevelt is junior Alida Holt. From Kaimuki are senior Kaena Paez and junior Tonia Palik. Kalani's picks are juniors Kaiana Iaea and Puamana Danielson. Representing Kalaheo are seniors Kelsey Wemple and Anjelica Fernandez.
