Pearl City boys, girls sweep state crowns


Pearl City swept the Billy Tees state bowling championships Friday at Hilo Lanes on the Big Island.

The Chargers boys repeated as state champions with a team score of 8,818. It was their seventh overall state title

The Chargers girls won their first title since 2002 with a tally of 7,205 pins. It was the girls' eighth overall state championship.

Pearl City's Kevin Oshiro won the individual crown with 1,890 pins, while Island Pacific's Jaymie-Rae Martin claimed the girls' title with 1,769 pins.
