Led by top-five finishes from Elliot Estrada and Dylan Martinez, Leilehua won the Honolulu Marathon state boys' cross country championship Saturday at Maui's Kapalua Village Golf Course.
With five of its runners in the top 10, Hawaii Prep took the girls' team championship, the school's first since 1994.
Iolani's Troy Esaki won the boys' individual title, completing the three-mile course in 16 minutes, 29 seconds. Leilehua's Estrada was second at 16:54.
Seabury Hall's Dakota Grossman took the girls' crown with a time of 19:27. Punahou's Elli Brady was second at 19:47.
Joining Estrada and Martinez among the Mules' scorers were Brandey Miya (11th), Christopher Olverson (12th) and Jordan Castro (26th). Leilehua tallied 55 points to runner-up Maui's 63.
Hawaii Prep's five scoring runners placed fifth through ninth: Kristiana Van Pern (20:22), Mariah Haight (20:27), Zoe Sims (20:33), Emily Evans (20:35) and Kelly Ulrich (20:38). All five are underclassmen.
Punahou was second with 50 points.
