Micah Christenson scored a game-high 21 points last night and Kamehameha took control early en route to a stunning 64-42 victory over visiting Academy of the Pacific.

A crowd of about 700 at Kekuhaupi'o Gym watched the Warriors improve to 9-2 in the Interscholastic League of Honolulu, a half-game behind first-place 'Iolani (8-1). AOP, which had beaten Kamehameha in the 'Iolani Prep Classic and again in the ILH first round, fell to 7-4.

The Warriors broke away early, leading 18-11 after one period and 32-20 at the half before stretching it to 51-32 entering the fourth quarter.

Nine different players got into the scoring column for Kamehameha, which defeated Punahou, 60-43, at home on Tuesday.

"It feels good, we've been playing well especially at home," said Christenson, a 6-foot-5 senior who scored 12 points in the first half last night. "We haven't had a close game here yet."

The Warriors are 6-0 at Kekuhaupi'o, with each victory coming by 12 or more points.

Kamehameha has three games remaining in the regular season, against Maryknoll (1-9), Mid-Pacific (6-6) and Saint Louis (2-7).

Moritz Krume led the Dolphins with 14 points.
