Mt. Vernon holds off Mason County, 59-53

Jabarie Hinds scored 22 points and Isaiah Cousins added 14 points Saturday night as Mount Vernon (N.Y.) held off Mason County (Maysville, Ky.), 59-53, in the 28th Annual 'Iolani Prep Classic quarterfinals.

The Knights, ranked No. 14 in the nation by USA Today, will face No. 25 Montverde (Fla.) in Monday's 8 p.m. semifinal. Mason County will play Kentucky rival Lexington Catholic in a consolation bracket game at 5 p.m.

Mount Vernon led, 23-20, after one period, 30-24 at halftime and 43-39 entering the fourth.

Treg Setty led the Royals with a game-high 24 points and Jordan Gilbert 11 points.
