Harley Simon | ScoringLive/Special to SLKamehameha posted a second straight double-digit victory over a Hawaii opponent, routing perennial state powerhouse Konawaena 66-51.
Nihoa Dunn scored 22 points and hit all eight of her free throws and Andrea Porreca added 16 more points as the Warriors jumped out to a 19-8 lead after the opening quarter and were never really challenged in the fifth place game of the Iolani Classic.
Rylee Cabuyadao-Caswell and Rylee Paranada scored seven each and Rylie Ching added four more in the victory, as eight different players contributed at least two points.
Konawaena was led by Kiilei Leleiwi, who finished with 14 points and got nine more Shailea Hookahi-Bannister, and actually kept pace with Kamehameha for the final three quarters, but just could not keep up any sustained momentum to really get back in it.
