A return home back to Carleton E. Weimer Field was not so sweet for the Kahuku football team.
The Red Raiders dropped to 2-2 after suffering their second shutout of the season in a 38-0 loss to nationally-ranked Bishop Gorman, 38-0, Saturday night.
Kahuku did get two sacks and an interception from Teave Crawford to spark some life energy to its fans in attendance, but it was pretty much a dominating by the visiting Gaels from Las Vegas.
Bishop Gorman quarterback Maika Eugenio threw for 367 yards and three touchdowns while receiver Kaina Watson caught eight passes for 124 yards and a score while throwing another for a 29-yard TD pass.
Starting Kahuku quarterback Matai Fuiava completed just three passes for two yards before giving way to Troy Mariteragi, who completed 9 of his 12 pass attempts for 64 yards.
"Defensively we played pretty tough," said Kahuku interim coach Nihoa Pule. "We were on the field quite a bit, but we did shutdown their running game to a certain extent. Offensively we got a spark in the second half, it's just putting it all together now."
