A low scoring game turned into a six overtime slugfest, as Kamehameha-Maui outlasted Baldwin, 13-7, to claim the inaugural Maui Interscholastic Federation flag football title.

Journey Hett acounted for both Warriors' scores, the game-winner a one yard pass from Tyra Shimizu in the sixth period of extra play and the other a five yard pass, also from Shimizu, in the fourth quarter that tied the score up.

Baldwin scored in the first quarter on a 37 yard interception return from Kili Kamakeeaina, and the extra point made it 7-0.

That lead held until the final quarter of regulation, when the Warriors broke through with the equalizer.

Both teams qualify for the upcoming state tournament.
