Brian Bautista | SLMoanalua continued its undefeated run through the OIA with a 32-6 win over Leilehua, setting up a showdown with Nanakuli in the semifinals of the OIA Flag Football playoffs.
Zaira Sugui factored into all five scores for Moanalua, four via the pass and one on the ground. Her favorite target, Jodie Keo had nine grabs for 107 and two scores, and she also connected with Kaia Borje-Peeples and Polanikulea Leong-Wilkinson for touchdowns.
Borje-Peeples registered four sacks and Keo an interception on defense for good measure.
The Mules trailed 18-0 at the half, but got on the scoreboard in the third on a pass from Cali Moniz-Kealoha to Madi Powell, but that would be all the offensive scoring output for Leilehua, who were held to just 101 yards in total.
Na Menehune's opponent in the semifinal round will be Nanakuli, a 30-12 winner over Kahuku.
The Golden Hawks jumped out to a 28-0 lead at the break, led by Charyssa Asinsin, who threw for two touchdowns and ran for two more.
Kahuku rallied for a pair of scores in the third quarter, both from Zeniah Hanohano to Janeane Fonoimoana, but that would be as close as the Red Raiders would get, as the Golden Hawks closed out the scoring with a safety.
Nanakuli's defense recorded four interceptions and a sack in the contest, while Kahuku had three picks and a sack of its own.
