EWA BEACH — Quarterback Alexiis Feliciano passed for three touchdowns and rushed for another and Campbell beat visiting Aiea, 25-0, in preseason high school flag football Thursday afternoon.

It was both teams' first preseaon game. The Sabers had played four scrimmages in Pearl City's tournament last Saturday, while this was Na Alii's first engagement against another school in this inaugural season of girls' flag football.

Felciano completed 7 of 14 passes for 91 yards, and rushed five times for 67 yards, including a 9-yard TD run. She had TD passes of 6 yards to Kea Akana, 27 yards to Maya Gonsalves, and 12 yards to Jaynalyn Sotelo. Feliciano also ran in a 1-point conversion. In this sport, teams can take the PAT from the 3-yard line for 1 point or at the 10 for 2 points. Campbell failed on its previous three PAT tries.

"Today could've been better, the score could've been better," Feliciano said. "But you know what? Our girls balled out. Aiea, they balled out. I think it was pretty good."

Feliciano got the Sabers rolling with her 9-yard TD run in the first quarter. Since the game is played with a running clock - except for the final two minutes of each half - there's no time for the scoring.

In the second quarter, Kanani Texeira returned an interception to the Aiea 6. Two plays later, Feliciano hit Akana on a 6-yard TD to give the Sabers a 12-0 lead at the half.

The Sabers started the second half at their 20 (there are no kickoffs in flag) and six plays later, Feliciano connected with Sotelo for a 12-yard TD.

In the fourth quarter, Jyzelle Gorion had an interception for Campbell, but it gave the ball right back when Shaila Valencia intercepted a Feliciano pass. But Na Alii failed to capitalize on the turnover and punted after three downs. The Sabers did not waste time. Two plays later, Feliciano hit Gonsalves on a 27-yard TD with two minutes left in the game, or when the running clock portion of the game ends. Feliciano ran in the 1-point conversion to round out the scoring for the game.

Aiea totaled 133 yards of offense, but could not find the end zone.

"it's a learning process," Aiea coach Ed Cera said. "Everybody has potential. As coaches, we have to make them as good as we can."
