The Sabers and Surfriders reached the semifinals of the OIA Division I boys soccer championships in thrilling, and similar, fashion, as both needed two overtimes in order to net golden goals.

Campbell bested Kaiser 2-1 on a Bryson Ancheta goal in the 93rd minute, breaking a 2-all deadlock that began in the 57th, when Tyler Welsch equalized for the Sabers after the Cougars netted the equalizer in the 30th courtesy of Issac Davies and then took the lead in the 53rd on a score by Tayte Sato.

The Cougars fell to the Sabers in the quarterfinals for the second time in as many seasons.

After a scoreless first half, Kailua got on the board first with Brody Person scoring in the 48th minute, and Kalani responded just six minutes later with Vincent Maseratti knotting the score up with his seventh goal of the season.

A one-all stalemale ensued until the 92nd minute, where Person's 20th goal of the season was a golden one, as his collision with the Kalani keeper on a contested ball left the goal unattended, and the ball ultimately trickled its way into the goal for the game winner.

The last win for Kailua over Kalani dates back beyond 2010, though the two teams did play to a two-all draw last season.

As for the impending clash between Campbell and Kailua, both teams faced off in the semifinals a season ago, with the Sabers coming out on top in a game that went to penalty kicks, which Campbell won 4-2.
